Usually I’m a person that always want credit line increases without a hard pull on their credit. However I’m tired of a dingy $1,100 line so when I asked the CSR for an automatic increase without a hard pull, she said they gave me a $300 bump last month already, so no deal. She then asked for a hard pull on my credit report and they would review it. I thought about it and eh, why not? My credit score will be better off in 6 months after the effect of the credit inquiry is gone. Bam! Instead of a petty $300-$500 bump, I got my line increased from $1,100 to $4,000.

So far I’ve gone from my first credit card 6 months ago with a $800 limit to a 3 credit cards with a $9,200 limit combined. Not bad for only 6 months of credit building eh?
