If you’re a regular reader you know I’m a big fan of the Consumerist blog.
However I’m always reading stories where a customer gets abused, mistreated, etc. and they still choose to do business with the merchant regardless. A typical story will be like “oh I got kicked in the face and the manager called my mother a whore but I REALLLLY needed those light bulbs so I bought them anyway and now I’m writing the Consumerist to complain about what an awful they treated me”. What gives?
If you’re still doing business with an entity that’s mistreating you than you need some sense knocked in to you. Standing up for your principles and being inconvenienced at having to do your shopping elsewhere will make you feel tons better than wussing out and then just whining about it later. If a merchant has horrible customer service, then don’t do business with them. In the long run it’ll add up and the merchant will figure it out sooner or later.
