Lately I’ve made it a habit before I leave my house to check gasbuddy.com to see what gas stations offer the cheapest gas. I figure it’s worth it because the difference between two nearby Exxon stations can be as much as 15 cents. While I won’t drive out of the way for cheaper gas, there are generally a lot that are conveniently located along my routes to place. Check it out.

I realized gas is relatively cheap in northern New Jersey at $2.50 or so compared to the national average of $2.75. Take a 10 minute drive from my house into Manhattan and gas goes for $2.95. The difference between prices for a 14 gallon fill-up is about $6.
