ABC.com is reporting that Irish discount carrier Ryanair plans to chargeĀ  to use the lavatory on the plane. The airline plans to charge 1 euro or 1 pound and remove 2 out of the 3 bathrooms on the plane to add seats. This isn’t a joke as other news outlets such as USA Today (Ryanair pushes ahead with plan for toilet fee) and CNN (Airline considers fee for lavatory use) have reported on the matter.

Ryanair is known for being a no frills discount carrier with cheap flights between many European cities. They’re also known for charging fees for everything from checking baggage to checking in online.

Supposedly the good news is Boeing won’t comply with Ryanair’s request because they believe it would compromise passenger safety. Why supposedly? I believe the whole thing is a publicity stunt. I highly doubt Ryanair would go this far to maximize revenue. However the whole publicity stunt worked because Ryanair is so known for no frills that announcing these “plans” had every media outlet reporting on the matter.

I cannot believe that this is a real product. It’s called the shake weight and I’m pretty sure nobody is naive enough to buy it and use it anywhere remotely within another person’s eyesight. Please watch the following infomercials and you’ll see the obvious innuendo.

1:19 into the video has got to be the most memorable.

Here’s advert for women:

“Pickles will kill you. Every pickle you eat brings you nearer to death. Amazingly, the thinking man has failed to grasp the significance of the term “in a pickle”. Although leading horticulturists have long said that Cucamis Sativus possesses Indehiscent Pepto, the pickle industry continues to expand.”

I came across this interesting piece of satire. Enjoy proof that they are bad for you.

Coincidentally I’ve recently going through a pickle addiction phrase. I think I’ve gone through 2 jars in the past week (although the girlfriend has helped a bit too). Pickles remind me of the article on Walmart used gallons of pickles priced at $2.97 as a statement item.

So are pickles actually bad for you? Perhaps only rectally.

I spend quite a fair amount of time on WikiTravel reading about places I’m going or want to go someday. Since Wikitravel is a wiki and open to editing by anyone you’ll see some funny travel tidbits in there once in awhile.

From Vietnam / Nha Trang / Stay Safe:
“After the Bali bombs, the australians started to come to Vietnam. Every year there is more and more of them. Unfortunately, they are overrepresented in bar fights, trouble making and visiting prostitutes in Nha Trang. Watch out for them if you visit a bar. They often fight about prostitutes. ”

edit: Apparently someone has edited this out of Wikitravel since I’ve posted it.

Apparently a woman posted on Craigslist wants 5,000 gold in World of Warcraft so she can buy an “epic mount”. In return she’ll let you mount her. She posted this offer and apparently found someone willing to take her up on the offer and subsequently posted a success story.

The screen shot of the supposed offer is below (click for full).
Epic Mount Success Story
I say supposed offer because I haven’t been able to verify if there were actual postings of such sort on Craigslist and even if there were, it might still be a hoax. It’s still a humorous item even if it were a hoax.
