I was selling a brand new water fountain that sold on Amazon for $35, not including shipping. I had some moron from the LA area contact me and didn't want to drive the 120+ miles to buy it. She wanted to know if I could meet her in Riverside, which is 60+ miles away from me. All for $15. Can't believe these people. The best part, if I had actually agreed, you damn well know they wouldn't have shown up or would have wanted to haggle the price down. Whats even better is if you try the personals, such as in the strictly platonic or looking for a date. I have a hard time meeting new people due to my line of work (property management), so I thought I'd give it a try. Big mistake. There's probably less then 5% of the people on CL that are worth a crap, the rest are huge losers. I met a couple nice/cool people and where still friends today. They tried to get us to give them the puppies for free because they "couldn't afford anything over $50." Man, if you can't afford more than $50, how can you afford to take care of the puppies? How many times can you get a response, "is the ____ still available I have cash in hand and ready to buy ASAP". WHen you write them back they never respond and the 1% that does will stand you up and then ask teh following day if we can still meet and stand you up again. I just moved in with my finace about two weeks ago and we're trying to unload as much of our stuff we don't want to keep as possible. I listed everything on Craigslist and it's crazy what people will ask. I had a girl ask me to drive my item to her, which isn't that bad as I charge a delivery fee for items I take to people but she wanted me to drive a $20 item 40 miles to get it to her.
