Beat 35 outrageuos fees

December 31st, 2006

Another great piece on CNN Money featuring 35 outrageous fees.

Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately, I got a bad bad bad bad round of food poisoning in addition to my gifts on Christmas.

Bling Bling!

December 28th, 2006

Here’s an interesting piece from CNN Money. It basically features blingin’ mobile phones for those with a penchant for flashy devices. Basically a slideshow of things I won’t be buying in the near future.

The first phone featured is the Signature Cobra by Vertu which costs $310,000.

“Vertu is now taking orders (but only 8 of them) for the Signature Cobra, designed by French jeweler Boucheron. The Cobra features one pear-cut diamond, one round white diamond, two emerald eyes and 439 rubies. A somewhat cheaper version – the $115,000 Signature Python – is ruby-free. But you better buy now: Vertu says only 26 Pythons will be made.”

Hmm, a house or a phone? Hard choice eh?

Yodlee Moneycenter

December 23rd, 2006

I started using Yodlee Moneycenter. It’s a website that lets you aggregate all your bank account information into one place. I have way too many obscure bank accounts (from all those bank bonuses) that using this just makes perfect sense.

Check it out.

Early Christmas Presents

December 20th, 2006

WOooooooooo!

I love getting early christmas presents. My girlfriend got me an xbox 360 w/ HDD and the game Gears of War.

My second present was from my cousins in Chicago who gave me money for the purchase of a wall mount for my tv.

Both presents made me extremely happy and normally these are things I wouldn’t buy on my own. Then again, that’s Christmas, you generally always buy things people wouldn’t normally buy for themselves. Who really goes out and buys a $100 tin of Godiva chocolates for themselves?

My Google Checkout Account was closed!

December 15th, 2006

I recieved this e-mail from Google checkout today regarding my seller account:

It has come to our attention that your account ID does not comply with our Terms and Conditions. Due to repeated violations of our policies, your account has been closed.

Your account was disbursed its final payout of $xxxx.xx on xx/xx/xx.
Please note, your bank may take up to three additional business days to
register the payout in your bank account.

Your current ending payout balance is now $0.00. Any pending and future
transactions made with this account will not be processed.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

The Google Checkout Team

Things to avoid having your account closed:
* If someone owes you money, do not use Google checkout to have them pay you back. Google checkout is supposedly for sales only, transfers of funds is strictly prohibited.

* You cannot sell “services”. Sales and purchases have to be on real goods.

* Repeated transactions with the same individual will raise flags at Google.

How’s everyone else’s experiences going so far?

The Relentless Stalker

December 14th, 2006

I have a stalker. Yep. There is a certain insane person out there that deserves a restraining order.

Comment moderation is now switched on as of this post. Why? I’ve blocked this person from contacting me on AIM, e-mail, etc. So in return they figure the only way to contact me would be to leave comments on my blog, most of which have generally nothing to do with the post at hand.

Why won’t this certain individual leave me alone? I really don’t know. I’ve told them outright “Leave me the [vulgar word] alone, you crazy [extremely vulgar word].” Notice that I don’t post as often as I use to? Well, I wanted to limit every connection to this crazy psychotic as possible. This blog was one of them. I’ve tried ignoring the stalker for months, but hey, they call them stalkers for a reason.

So what’s different today? I realized I don’t care. They lead a sad and depressing life. I’ll let them do whatever they need to get by each day. They can cherish every word I write on here if they want. I’ll just continue to not care and ignore them. Hopefully one day they’ll realize it’s a futile effort.
