When I first applied to be a lender months ago I had little to no credit history so Prosper couldn’t verify my identity so I was never able to lend on Prosper. It seems like this has been more good luck than bad as some people have been reporting above average default rates.

PFBlog.com writes about how his Prosper adventure is turning sour. He has over 150+ loans on Prosper so he’s invested quite a bit. Hopefully things turn out better for him.

Response to comments on post: PayPerPost forums

Okay. Here’s the thing. I do label each and EVERY post that is a blogvertisement as of the post when I announced I would do so. Just because a post involves PPP does not make it automatically a “blogvertisement”. The post about the PayPerPost forums was a simply a tip, because I know there are TONS of PPP publishers out there. Most of them don’t bother to disclose they’re getting paid for posts, so you don’t know that they are. Apparently this whole disclosure thing is backfiring. I did it so it’s easier for people to easily weed out which posts are sponsored… and apparently this is the response I get. Oh wells.

Response to comments on post: I need a logo

The first round of comments were extremely childish. Suggesting I take a picture of my “part” to use as a logo. Those were definitely deleted. Then another comment making references to the size of my “part”. I mean… seriously… grow up?

Use the free HSBC Billpay to pay 3 bills by November 30th, 2006 and they’ll send you a $25 HSBC Mastercard Gift Card.

Bank of America had a promotion like this awhile back. Since you can use billpay to pay virtually anyone. I sent payments to myself and still qualified for the offer. You only had to do 1 payment with that promotion however. Anyways, get creative and figure out some ways to earn the free $25. Should only take about 10 minutes of your time max.

If you’re a publisher or advertiser on PayPerPost, I suggest you check out the forums there. I’m been lurking there and haven’t posted anything yet but it’s interesting to read about tips and how other bloggers implement the ads into their site. I learned a few things about PayPerPost I previously didn’t know before, some sponsored post opportunities are so high in demand that they can be gone after 5 minutes of being available. This must be due to the high number of active publishers. The forums require a seperate registration process and god knows how lazy I am to sign up for yet another login somewhere. Google should start a “universal login” system that websites can adopt. Check out the forums on PayPerPost.

I’ve decided to put “Blogvertisement” in the title of the post after my girlfriend complained about subscribing to my RSS feed through google and getting so extremely pants wetting excited about new posts and then being let down after visiting the blog discovering it’s a “Blogvertisement”.

Why am I doing more of these sponsored post lately? Well, honestly I could use the extra cash. Christmas time is coming around the corner. The sponsored posts won’t pay for that much but at least it’ll help a bit. Generally the blogvertisements are 50-100 words so I hope they aren’t too intrusive.

I hope you appreciate the fact I disclose these are sponsored posts and disclose that I am getting paid a small amount for them.

I woke up today and $12 magically appeared in my PayPal account from PayPerPost. Currently I have about another $10 in the pipeline that I will be paid within the next 30 days or so. That will go towards next month’s hosting fees.

If you’re a blogger, you should consider PayPerPost as a small income stream to pay off your hosting and domain fees. I’ve had a great experience with them thus far and nothing negative has come out of it.

Although I wish it could be a more lucrative prospect, being so would limit the potential number of people that can participate. I’m going to step up my involvement in PayPerPost a bit to generate some income for the upcoming Christmas season.

Generally I don’t visit those deal sites as often as I use to. However, my wonderful girlfriend pointed out to me the chance to get a xbox 360 for $100 on Amazon Customers Vote.

What is this so called Amazon Customers Vote? Most hardcore deal hunters know about this already. For the next four weeks, Amazon will let customers vote on on which deal they want to see available. The deal with the most amount of votes wins and the deal is released at a certain time. Each week’s winner will be annouced on Wednesday and goes on sale at Thursday, 11 a.m. Pacific Time. So that’s 2 pm Eastern Standard time for me. Yay I don’t have to wake up early on Turkey day.

The deal won’t be available through the product details page. You must enter through amazon.com/customers-vote to get the deal. Think of this as Amazon’s version of a doorbuster.

The buying process will be different. It’s not whoever rushes through the checkout process the fastest will get the item. To ensure whoever gets the deal is guaranteed the item, you will be issued a claim code if you get the deal. You will then have 24 hours (11 AM pacfic time the next day) to complete the checkout process. For more details check out the buying tips page.

The xbox 360 is the current leader with about 85% of the votes. I’ve been waiting to either get a xbox 360, ps3 or wii. I was going to get a wii because I’m not a hardcore gamer anymore but if I can snap up a xbox 360 at $100…. I will be a happy man.

Blogvertisement: Can’t decide which credit card to get with all those Credit Cards out there?
Well, maybe creditcardsearchengine.com can help! Depending on what kind of credit card you need (balance transfer, low interested, rewards, etc. etc.), you can probably find it on their search engine. You can either search for a specific card or browse by category. They have a fairly comprehensive “student credit cards” section that may be helpful for college kids out there looking to build up some credit.

http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/ lets you find out which cards you should use to maximize yoru rewards. Seems I get the Citi Driver’s Edge as top choice. I guess the idea is rewards for other cards are so volitile that the 6% for one year with this card is worth it.

Note: You MUST live in a state where BoA has no brick and mortar presence to qualify.

$250 bonus can be found here:$250 from Bank of America

expired!! I didn’t even notice because I’m not eligible for this offer, just thought someone else might find it useful.
